TESTIMONY, REASONS AND RATIONALITY

Image
J U D G M E N T S   A N D   C O N F I R M A T I O N S We have to use evidence, reasons and arguments in our daily lives. It presents the relationship between emotion and memory activation. The belief in logic and rationality as the basic and distinctive feature of human capacity to believe that we can secure the essence of the world is much more substantially and deeply rooted. The belief in rationality can be firmly rooted in truth and knowledge. Cause works at a fundamentally different level than rationality. Forms of reasoning focus on objects, and reason focuses on models of reasoning.  People often make mistakes. Those errors should be reported and misidentified. It is not always an easy task. Some of the errors so identified are unreliable sources of information. Accurate reasons and correct arguments are essential elements for building evidence.  Reason works at a fundamentally different level than rationality. Forms of reasoning ref...

LEARNING AND HUMAN UNDERSTANDING

Image
K E E P    L E A R N I N G Learning can be described as a complex practice. It stretches back to the distant past. Thousands of years ago, the primary responsibility of the human brain was to find food, avoid predators, find a safe place to sleep, and find a mate.  Today, in addition to those basic human activities, our brain is overwhelmed by other things and tasks that need to be learned. Unfortunately, the evolution of a biological structure such as the brain does not allow our society to change at the rapid pace at which it is currently changing. One has to think about how complex human life has become in roughly three generations in the last 80 years.  Better learning does not always require more effort or more time, rather one need only effectively align how the brain naturally learns with the demands of the college classroom. "Learn continually - there's always 'one more thing' to learn!" -Steve Jobs- Learning is defined in many different ways and meanings....

LOGIC AND ARGUMENTS

B E    A    L O G I C I A N L o g i c Logic (from Greek: logike, possessed of reason, intellectual, dialectical, argumentative) is the systematic study of valid rules of inference. That is the relations that lead to the acceptance of one proposition (the conclusion) on the basis of a set of other propositions (premises). More broadly, logic is the analysis and appraisal of arguments. Logic comes from the Greek word logos, originally meaning "The word" or "What is spoken", but coming to mean "Thought" or "Reason". In the Western World, logic was first developed by Aristotle, who called the subject "Analytics". Aristotelian logic became widely accepted in science and mathematics and remained in wide use in the West until the early 19th century. Aristotle's system of logic was responsible for the introduction of hypothetical syllogism, temporal modal logic, and inductive logic, as well as influential vocabulary such as terms, predicabl...

Philosophy of Science

T h e  L o v e  O f   W i s d o m Many branches can be introduced under philosophy. One of them is the philosophy of science. Philosophy is very important to us. It is more important to comment on something or a creation or to present one own ideas. Philosophy is also known by the nickname " Queen of Science ".        Philosophy is a logical query other than science. Maybe science will end the inquiries. Many philosophers and rationalists who lived in the past thought that there was nothing we could intelligently examine except scientific facts. But this opinion is often not correct. Which branch of science answers the question of whether or not science covers all logical queries?  Philosophical questions are questions about human  inquiry and the limits of knowledge.         Science is a systematic enterprise that builds and organizes knowledge in the form of experimental explanations and predictio...
